1944 Air Crashes in East Farndon

On Sunday 11th July 2021, East Farndon held a moving ceremony at the War Memorial to remember and honour five young RAF airmen, who lost their lives in two air crashes near East Farndon in July 1944. The ceremony was followed by the incredible spectacle of a flypast over the village by the Dakota from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

On Friday July 1st 2022, Judy Hodgetts and Theresa Reed gave an engaging and interesting talk in the Village Hall, explaining all of the details related to the air crashes that happened in the village in 1944.
