Lealand Bench Refurbishment

Following the Parish Council’s 6 monthly fixed asset audit it was decided that some of the benches needed attention. The Lealand bench has had the slats reinforced and been treated with a clear preservative. This has also been used on the bench outside the Village Hall. Many thanks to Russell for all of his work on this.

Most importantly the plaque on the Lealand bench, commemorating the Silver Jubilee in 1977, needed to be replaced as it had become illegible over the years. It is a sad coincidence that the replica plaque was fixed to the bench on the day that Prince Philip, HRH Duke of Edinburgh, died. Our condolences to HRH The Queen and hopes for a Platinum Jubilee village celebration in 2022.
