East Farndon Speedwatch – April 2025

You might have noticed that Speedwatch is taking place within East Farndon. Our team of volunteers will continue to be out on daily basis to monitor the speed of vehicles travelling through the village until May 3rd 2025. As part of Speedwatch, the Police install a radar device in the village to monitor traffic in the lead up to, and following, the event. The attached Police monitoring report for the 7 day period from a few weeks ago makes interesting reading and reinforces why we take part in Speedwatch. The report shows that during this period, 6,058 vehicles, (32% of the total) were exceeding our 30mph limit. Of this total, 1,974 vehicles (10% of the total) were travelling above 35mph. 19,002 vehicles travelled through East Farndon in this 7 day period. Please click here to read the full details.

East Farndon Parish Council will continue to use Speedwatch as a way to help control the speed of vehicles through our village. The information collected on vehicles speeding gets passed to the Police for them to follow up as appropriate. We also use the information gathered to help convince West Northamptonshire Council to install approriate speed and road safety control measures in the village.
